Language Studio is Amplify’s designated ELD (English Language Development) program which is a companion program to Amplify CKLA. I worked with Amplify Education as a Production Designer in 2025 and then a Production Design Manager in 2026 supporting the development of the National and California editions of Language Studio.
The curriculum was specifically designed for Kindergarten through fifth grade students. As a Production Design Manager, I led and supported the team who worked on developing Teacher Guides and Activity Books.
Language Studio
Supporting multilingual & English language learners
Multilingual/English learners (ML/ELs) bring unique strengths to classrooms, enriching the learning experiences for all.
Language Studio, Amplify CKLA’s dedicated K–5 English language development companion program, offers daily 30-minute lessons to help ML/ELs practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Aligned to the World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) framework, Language Studio previews and reinforces language and content from core instruction, so that ML/ELs of all proficiency levels are able to access grade-level content as they develop academic English.
Interior Production
Production Design’s role in the interior production of the Language Studio Teacher Guides and Activity Books included creating unique master pages and style sheets to be implemented by our partnering design vendor. The Production Design team finalized files by doing a final proofing pass to ensure proper application of all styles set by our team at the beginning of the project. We came up with a unique set of style sheets (paragraph and character styles) to ensure proper fitting and placement of content.

As a Production Design team, our role in cover production included ensuring proper application of the designated styles as set by the Visual Design team. We ensure proper layering, usage of style sheets (paragraph and character styles), and linking.
